After making the media wait for almost 2 hours, Khan finally appeared on stage without Akon, much to the surprise of everyone. The actor chose to first speak a few words about the rapper and in a grand welcome, also played one of Akons most popular numbers Smack That for the media. And while all indulged in enjoying the super number, SRK couldnt help but do a little foot tapping and head banging on the song. Soon after, Akon appeared on stage and sent the crowd ooh-ooing. What followed next was a traditional welcome where Shah Rukhs Ra.One co-star Kareena Kapoor put the tikka on Akons forehead and an Orchid garland around his neck. Just then, SRK in his funny style said, When an actress of a film garlands you, you are married to the hero. So now Akon and I are married. Akon was also presented with a Lord Krishna memento and the sacred Bhagwad Gita. Taking the credit for inviting Akon to sing for Ra.One SRK said that getting the international star on board Ra.One was director Anubhav Sinha and music director duo Vishal and Shekhars idea. Talking about Akon, Shah Rukh said, I love his songs and the number Smack That is my favourite. Akon is very gracious, I am not. I charge for everything but hes a great guy and his singing for my film is not a business deal but a friendly gesture. International singer Akon seems to be making the most of his time in Mumbai. After performing for a select gathering on Monday night and attending a press conference with SRK and Kareena Kapoor for their upcoming movie (for which hes recording a song) the next afternoon, he was seen partying the night away on Tuesday. Shah Rukh Khan hosted a big bash to introduce Akon to his Bollywood buddies, and cars streamed into Mannat as Karan Johar, Abhay Deol, Fardeen and Natasha Khan, Goldie and Sonali Behl, Arjun Rampal and Mehr Jessia, Chunky and Bhavna Pandey, Kunal Kapoor, Sushmita Sen, Ritesh Sidhwani and Ayaan Mukherjee stepped out. Sanjay and Maheep Kapoor entered with Neelam and Seema Khan while Dino Morea came with Nandita Mahtani and Renu Chainani. Uday Chopra drove down with Hrithik and Sussanne Roshan, the two men catching up on old times through the night. Jai Mehta, Surily Goel, Farah Khan Ali, Malaika Arora Khan with her sister Amrita Arora, who made her first appearance post her delivery, and Wasim Akram were also there to mingle with Akon. |

Subhash Ghai ended the 16-year-long cold war between Shah Rukh Khan and Sunny Deol on Saturday Lately, Shah Rukh Khan might have had serious issues with several people from the film industry but the first actor who he had an ego clash with was Sunny Deol way back in 1993. Now, the two actors have patched up 16 years after they had a huge fight during the making of Yash Chopras Darr. They finally buried the hatchet during a party on Saturday night and the man responsible for the patch up was host Subhash Ghai. A source present at the party said, Shah Rukh had come in earlier in the evening and he was sitting in one of the private sections at the party venue with Karan Johar and his other friends. Sunny Deol was accompanied by director Neeraj Pathak, who he was chatting with, when Ghai suddenly went up to the reticent actor and took him to the private section. Ghai headed straight to Shah Rukh and reintroduced the two warring actors. SRK and Sunny shook hands and gradually warmed up to each other and were later seen chatting animatedly with lyricist Prasoon Joshi.
